Lunch in the Chinese Park

If you haven’t noticed this yet, I love the eclectic culture of San Luis Obispo. We have Spanish, Mexican, Native American, and good ol’ whitey influences like most California towns, but we also have a tiny bit of Chinese. There is a “China Town” that consists of a couple buildings (including “Me Hung Low” Chinese food, no joke), a statue at the train station, and now this little park.
The best part about this park,  beyond its seeming randomness, is that apparently the origin of it was mainly to beautify the corner and keep the pesky homeless out. No joke. So, people like this here lady can go there and have a peaceful read – with cars whizzing by one of the most busy intersections in town.
